WWN Globabl Connectome Awardee: India 2026
Dr. Poulami Kar was awarded the Merit Abstract Travel Award in OHBM Annual Meeting in 2025 for work in understanding how the processing of perceptual features of music is varied among musicians, motor trainers and non-musicians. In this study they also investigated how the neural correlates associated with certain perceptual features of music such as tempo is different across three subgroups. They also investigated the differences in the plasticity of white matter tracts in rigidity and tremor dominant Parkinson’s patients, in order to look into Internal Capsule, Corpus Callosum, Cerebellar peduncles to understand the subtype specific neurologic music therapy that can be personalized for these patients based on their previous findings about shared neurological correlates for processing certain perceptual features of music and motor movements. They have presented this as a poster in Annual Conference of Cognitive Science XII, held at CBCS, Allahabad. They also investigated the differences in resting state dominance networks among the rigidity and tremor dominant patients and presented this as a poster at I-CNCNC (2026) at NIMHANS,India. Dr. Poulami was awarded the WWN-IBRO Global Connectome Fellowship at I-CNCNC.

Women’s Health Summit 2026: Shanghai, China
In March 2026, Laimei Yeung successfully organized the Women’s Health Summit 2026 in Shanghai, bringing together senior executives, policymakers, and medical experts to advance the conversation around women’s health as a strategic priority. The summit highlighted critical yet often overlooked issues affecting women in the workplace, including stress, sleep deprivation, and menopause, emphasizing their direct impact on productivity and overall well-being. Under Laimei’s coordination, the event featured diverse perspectives from healthcare, business, and innovation sectors, encouraging actionable solutions rather than remaining at the level of awareness. One of the key achievements of the summit was its ability to bridge gaps between industries and inspire organizations to translate insights into tangible initiatives. The event also received international media attention, reflecting its global relevance and the growing recognition of women’s health as both a social and economic imperative. Through her work, Laimei Yeung continues to advocate for greater visibility and support for women’s health issues, while building networks that empower professionals across disciplines. Her efforts exemplify leadership that not only elevates important conversations but also drives real-world impact.

2026 Yale AMGEN BioMed SURF Program
Daniella Erebor (Johns Hopkins University, USA) was recently accepted into the 2026 Yale AMGEN BioMed SURF Program as a Yale American Cancer Society (ACS) Scholar. This is a research-intensive summer program at the Yale School of Medicine focused on preparing students for MD/PhD and PhD training in the biomedical sciences. Through this opportunity, I will conduct full-time research under a faculty mentor while also engaging in oncology-focused programming through the Yale Cancer Center, including exposure to tumor boards. I’m excited to use this experience to build on the research I’m already doing and explore cancer biology in a more clinical context. I’m especially interested in how this connects to my long-term goal of becoming a neurologist–neuroscientist.
